Some 33 personnel of the Defence and Security Forces have been promoted to various ranks in the North West Region.

Personnel drawn from both the Army and the Gendarmerie took part in the event, where they formally received their new insignia following their advancement to higher ranks.

Speaking at the ceremony, the newly promoted officers and men pledged to remain loyal to the nation, uphold discipline, and continue performing their duties with dedication. They were also reminded that promotion is not only an honour, but a call to greater responsibility and stronger commitment to the country.

According to officials, the 33 promotions were presented as recognition of their service and as an encouragement for them to maintain professionalism as they help sustain peace and security.

The promotion and epaulette ceremony took place this Thursday,  October 1, 2026, at the 5th Joint Military Region in Bamenda Up Station. The ceremony was attended by military and administrative officials, along with other members of the Defence and Security Forces.
