Yaounde: Protesters Demand Justice After Travel Scam Allegations
By Jessica Ndiwum
Tension ran high at Tradex Bastos in Yaoundé as dozens of angry Cameroonians stormed the headquarters of the Level Up Organization, accusing its promoter of embezzling more than 100 million CFA francs meant for travel arrangements that never materialized.

What appeared to be a calm morning in the neighborhood of Tradex Bastos quickly shifted once inside the building. Dozens of aggrieved subscribers gathered in the corridors, hiding their faces from cameras as they recounted how they had allegedly been defrauded by the organization. Many told the press, that they had paid significant sums after being reassured by the company’s promoter, who promised to facilitate travel procedures that ultimately did not go through.

According to the victims, frustration has been mounting for months. They say the company’s promoter repeatedly reassured them that their travel procedures were progressing as planned and that all promised arrangements would eventually be fulfilled.

Despite those assurances, no concrete results followed, and subscribers claim they were continually asked to make additional payments. The Level Up Organization has maintained silence regarding the allegations. The company has stated only that its legal team will issue an official communication at the appropriate time.

Meanwhile complaints have been officially filed at the 10th Municipality of the Mfoundi High Court for fraud. As authorities open investigations, tension remains high, with both victims and the public awaiting answers and accountability.
