Catholic Faithful Unite for Peace and Reconciliation at St. Joseph Metropolitan Cathedral's Golden Jubilee

The Golden Jubilee and Re-dedication ceremony of St. Joseph Metropolitan Cathedral in Big Mankon, Bamenda, was celebrated with a powerful call for peace and reconciliation. The Apostolic Nuncio to Cameroon, José Avelino Bettencourt, urged the faithful to prioritize unity and forgiveness, stating that reconciliation must come before offerings to God.

Archbishop Andrew Nkea of the Bamenda Archdiocese praised the community’s resilience and dedication to the Cathedrals refurbishment, and continued that the stricture signifies a Beacon of Hope for a brighter future.

Government officials, including Northwest Region Governor Adolphe Lele Lafrique and Minister Mbayu Felix, were in attendance, emphasizing the importance of peace and unity in the Region.

In his remarks, Personal Representative of the Head of States, Fai Yengo Francis said "Peace is the lone ingredient without which nothing is possible”.

On his part, Minister Mbayu Felix noted, "If we can come together to build this structure, we can come together and build peace”

The ceremony brought together Catholic faithful, elites, traditional leaders, and diplomats, demonstrating the power of faith and community in promoting peace and reconciliation.
