Cameroon's Presidential Couple Show Support to Bikers and Underprivileged!
In a significant display of goodwill, Cameroon's Presidential couple, through Minister of Territorial Administration, Paul Atanga Nji, has offered a one month free fuel supply to commercial bike riders operating within the Bamenda City Council. Additionally, 500 bags of rice and 500 blankets were distributed to vulnerable persons from the 34 Sub-Divisions and 7 Divisions of the North West Region.
The distribution and reception ceremony held at the Senior Divisional Officer for Mezam's Courtyard, was attended by over 2,000 people, including beneficiaries and Community leaders.
Minister Atanga Nji emphasized the importance of supporting President Paul Biya in the upcoming presidential election, citing his boundless generosity to the Region. He urged the population to "scratch President Paul Biya's back" in response to his largesse, drawing inspiration from the adage "politic na scratch my back, I scratch your own." He highlighted the Region's appreciation for President Biya's leadership, noting that the North West Region boasts two Prime Ministers who have made significant contributions to Cameroon's country under President Biya's leadership.
Reacting to the present Security Situation and Election Preparedness in the Region, Minister Paul Atanga Nji commended bike riders for boycotting the imposed ghost town, describing such actions as "evil."
“The population has taken a special commitment to give President Biya a resounding success in the upcoming election” MINAT emphasized.
This gesture by the Presidential couple according to MINAT demonstrates their appreciation for the support of the bike riders and vulnerable persons in the North West Region. The free fuel supply is expected to alleviate some of the economic burdens faced by bike riders, while the rice and blankets will provide essential support to those in need.
